July Fourth Is Not Independence Day

I want to explain to you how easily the masses can be misled.  When do we celebrate Independence Day in America?  On the 4th of July of course.  And what are we celebrating?  We are commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.

Would you believe that we are actually celebrating the declaration of independence on the wrong day?  Independence was actually declared on July 2nd, 1776 and not on July 4th, 1776.  July 2nd is also when the declaration of independence was signed. Read more

         

God Still Loves And Cares For Us Even When We Neglect Him

I’ve been a Christian for many years, but just recently learned the proper way to pray.  My mother in law, who was very dear to me, became very ill and had to be hospitalized.  While she was in the hospital, I of course prayed a little bit.  I would pray a few words to God at bedtime, and occasional little prayers throughout the day.

I will admit, I did not pray enough.  I know that at times one must really get on their knees and “pray through”.  I know that peace one gets when you know that God has heard your prayer.  That beautiful peace provided by the Holy Spirit, that reminds you that God cares and is listening.   But during my days of praying, I wasn’t praying through as I should have been.  I was just tossing out words, because I felt that it was not her time yet since she always got sick during the winter season.  It was normal for her to become ill during this time of the year and she always got better.
