Nationwide Political Prayer Chain

I have not written in some time because I have been praying for guidance and was not sure what direction would be within God’s will for the site.    It can get very depressing when one looks at the direction that our beloved Country is headed.

I can talk until I am blue in the face, write until my hands cramp, research until my eyes are ready to dry up, and it seems that no one cares.  But for some reason, every time I have wanted to just delete the site and move on with my life, God’s prompting would not allow me to delete it.

So it’s pretty much stayed with the information that has already been posted, as I continued to pray.

I know that God has laid it on my heart to tell people to slow down with their daily activities, and give some of their precious time to God.  Simply going to Church is not enough if we wish to change the direction that this nation is headed.

We need to pray people, and we need to pray NOW!  You do not have to be a “Christian” to pray, I prayed a lot when I was living in the world, and I have found that God hears the prayer of every person, despite his or her lifestyles.  It doesn’t matter if you’re a Christian, Alcoholic, An Addict, Straight, Gay….. one thing I know is that God still loves and cares for YOU no matter who you are, what you have done or what you are doing today.  He may not like the things you do, but He still loves YOU no matter what!

I have been asking people to write their public officials, sign petitions, get up and do something to help make this Country a better nation.

Sadly, very few people have even bothered to sign a simple petition.  I know that in our own way, we are lazy people about a lot of things.  I’ll admit that when it comes to writing even I can be lazy, and my lack of posts shows that indeed not even I will write if I do not feel like it.

But even when I am not writing, I still pray.  I pray for this nation, I pray for the people directly involved in campaigning for this nation, I pray the homeless, the hurting, the afflicted, the Country, my neighbors….I do spend time throughout my day praying for many different things.

I always have time to pray, I can pray while washing dishes, while cleaning the house, while gardening.  I have found that when my mind is silent, it’s a lot better to pray than to let worries take control of my thoughts, so I spend my “thought” time in prayer as much as I possibly can.  It brings me great comfort and joy, knowing that when I pray, that I have a God that is listening with a kind heart full of so much compassion.  When I have no one to turn to, I always have God to turn to, even when I “screw up”.  This kind of comfort is such a joy, and it’s something that no man can EVER take from you na matter what your situation.

If you live on the streets, if you go to school, if you’re in jail, if you’re working for an Atheist boss, if you’re working for a corrupt Politician, it doesn’t matter.  No man or woman can EVER take away your right to pray!  EVER.

You don’t have to tell people when you pray, you don’t have to bow your head and close your eyes.  If people do not know that you’re praying, then they can’t fire you, beat you, and harass you.  The only being that needs to know that you’re praying is God, and He will know, He will hear and He will care!

I am so saddened that prayer is not allowed in the Public School system, but students can still pray because NO government can take away this right!

If you drink, you can pray!  I used to drink a lot, and one thing I know about fellow drunks is that usually when you’re at your lowest, one usually prays the most!  God still cares for you, and knows your hurts and pains.  He still wants you to turn to Him!  Start with prayer, and let God do the rest!  He knows how to help you better than know how to help yourself, even when you think you do not want or need help!

I have been praying for this nation yes, but my mother asked me something this morning that sent a shockwave through me.  She asked me “Are you praying for the Politicians”?  I sheepishly had to admit that no, I write letters to them but I do not pray for them.

When I hung up the phone, I had an epiphany.  Instead of asking people who read my blog to write letters to Politicians, why not ask them to pray for them instead?  It requires NO effort, hardly any time and will produce much better results than a single letter ever could!

Those who are writing letters and signing petitions, please continue to do this, but those who don’t write for various reasons (fear I have learned being the most common reason), then I ask you to at least show your love for God, your family, your country and your fellow Americans by spending time each day in prayer.

I do not care if it’s 10 seconds to pray “God, please guide our President so that He does your will.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.” or if it’s mini prayers throughout the day for as many Politicians as you know of.

Please, take time each day, to pray at least ONCE!  This is the greatest thing any one person can do to help get this country back on track for God so that it can be a productive and better country for everyone and for future generations!

If you can, pray more than once!  Pray as you wash dishes, cut your grass, drive to work!  If you find yourself worrying, start praying instead of wasting precious time with worries!  You’ll quickly find that prayer is a lot better for you than worrying, and that you’ll be a much happier person!  God also at times shows solutions to problems that worry, when a person is praying.  So spend more time praying, and less time worrying, you’ll love it!
I’ll be posting a new type of post under the Take Action Now category of the site.  I will be posting links to news articles about various Politicians in the news, with a simple request for others to pray for the person mentioned in the post.

I still say we should also do other things, like boycott Fox Network, writing letters, signing petitions, all of these things are important and should not be ignored, but I am going to put prayer as the first and most important call to action from here on out.

If I can’t find a petition, I will ask you to pray.  If I can’t write about something, I will ask you to pray.

Let’s join our prayers together as “One Nation UNDER GOD” and instead of rallying for change and hoping for change, instead of depending on Politicians to make those changes happen (be honest, some are not doing their jobs very well) and instead of depending on our Government to bail us out, let’s stand united and PRAY for change.  When God does the work, it’ll get done much faster with much better results than ANY man or Government could ever produce anyways!

Let’s start today, by praying for our President.  Please pray for God to guide Obama’s path, conviction to do what’s within Gods will and the wisdom to do what is God knows is right for our Country and not for what our Government may think is right if it’s not within Gods will.
